Born in 1995 in Wakula Village, Mfangano Ward, Homa BayCounty, Beatrice sat for her KCSE exams in 2012. Previously and shortly after completing her high school education, Beatrice worked as an ECDE teacher at her village school for 6 months.
In September 2013 Beatrice joined the community based research team here at the Ekialo Kiona Centre as an enumerator in the Research on Environment and Community Health (RECH) Study. Though this study is soon to be concluded, she has gained enormous experience in conducting research and community health programs. She is now interested in furthering her career in health and research and hopes to study community health in the near future. Her inspiration comes from Her motivation the numerous household visits she has conducted for RECH and the data she collected on child health and nutrition.
Beatrice has a passion for working in child welfare programs and is motivated by child wellbeing.
