Jenna is an agriculturist, conservationist, and educator. She has been working with the Organic Health Response since 2009 after spending 6 months as a WWOOFer (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) on Mfangano Island. Over the years, Jenna has developed and supported OHR’s agriculture and reforestation programs.
In 2012 she returned to Mfangano to spend the year working with local farmers and community members to address health, environmental, and agricultural needs and concerns. Together they established demonstration farms using indigenous and regenerative agricultural techniques, developed educational workshops, established tree nurseries, and worked with local officials to delineate conservation lands.
She continues to provide programmatic support as well as make biannual visits to Mfangano Island.
