Kelsi was one of the lucky WWOOFers to end up on Joel and Richard's farm in June 2008. After finishing her semester-long international development program in Nairobi, Kelsi and her sister Jenna picked up a map and pointed to Mfangano Island. Kelsi continues today as OHR's Co-Director of Operations manning the day-to-day activities of the organization. She also serves as the connection between our friends on Mfangano and the many volunteers in the U.S.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2009, Kelsi used her degree in Sociology and African Studies and traveled back to Lake Victoria. Her first stop was on Linigira Island, across the lake in Ugandan waters. There she worked on women's issues with the student organization, the EDGE Project. Fortunately for us, Kelsi couldn't stay away long. She made her second trip across the lake back to her home with the Suba of Mfangano.
